Youth sport in the United States is the most expensive and time-consuming system in the world — from swimming to taekwondo, hockey to soccer. The true loss is borne by children from lower-income families who are excluded entirely.
Affluent children join exclusive private clubs while less privileged athletes are left with far less competitive programs — undermining organic integration across economic and racial lines.
